In 2016 I voted libertarian. I liked Trump but wasn’t 100% sold and didn’t have confidence in the establishment Republicans. Looking at the vote totals most states had Gary Johnson at 3%. In MN, for example, it was 3.8%.
Trump has been the most libertarian president we’ve had. That being said, I’m assuming most libertarians would switch to Trump for 2020, I certainly am. If that’s the case he’d pick up a few extra states while holding onto the ones he flipped. That mixed with the massive amount of people walking away from the dems we may be looking at a landslide victory.
I haven’t heard any commentators, or anybody, speak to this point. Is it just me? What do you all think?
Yep. Former Libertarian here too. While why I made the (L) choice is a lengthy diatribe, the largest reason was that I felt we had too much entrenchment and corruption, too many career politicians, and that needed to go.
I can't even put into words how awesome I think Trump did at shaking that up, better than any of the recent (L) choices could.
The last (L) prez candidate I really agreed with was Badnarik... when asked to cite his opinion for the record on the death penalty and 2A, he gave a response akin to: "There is no better time to exercise your 2A rights than at 3 in the morning when someone is trying to mug you at an ATM"... and Trump isn't far from that!
Trump has no fear, no one can bribe him, and how many others in DC could come out of investigation after investigation smelling like roses? He's the perfect deep state killer. He didn't try to wipe any of my constitutional rights, and as a veteran, I have the highest respect for his treatment of our troops.
He's definitely my choice for the moral and logistical return to the America I fought for, regardless of what party he is running under. He says what he means, and does what he says he is going to do, and represents the people.
