In 2016 I voted libertarian. I liked Trump but wasn’t 100% sold and didn’t have confidence in the establishment Republicans. Looking at the vote totals most states had Gary Johnson at 3%. In MN, for example, it was 3.8%.
Trump has been the most libertarian president we’ve had. That being said, I’m assuming most libertarians would switch to Trump for 2020, I certainly am. If that’s the case he’d pick up a few extra states while holding onto the ones he flipped. That mixed with the massive amount of people walking away from the dems we may be looking at a landslide victory.
I haven’t heard any commentators, or anybody, speak to this point. Is it just me? What do you all think?
I am a libertarian or, as I prefer to think of it, a classical Jeffersonian liberal. I voted for Trump in 2016 not because I liked him personally or thought he would actually do anything positive in the grand scheme of things, but because Hilary was literally the embodiment of evil to me. lol I know it's irrational, but everything about her was just so vile and loathsome and wicked, it was a visceral reaction. Also, since I went to Berkeley, I know exactly how nutty the so-called left truly is - they are bonkers. Rampant mental illness, without exaggeration. (It's actually some very clever people manipulating the mentally ill, but I digress) Sure, the "right" has its own issues, but nowhere near the issues of the "left."
I had to do whatever I could to defeat the evil, entitled sociopathic witch and stem the tide of marxism, so I voted for Trump. In California. My last vote before that was for Ross Perot. So that tells you how desperate I was. lol
This time around, I'll vote for the Donald again with gusto. I am thankful that he exposed the MSM as fake news (yuge!). I am thankful that he has at least started a dialogue about the Swamp a/k/a Deep State (even if that useless, fat ass AG of his hasn't done anything about it). I am thankful for the nod toward a wall, sort of. I am thankful that he is not PC (PC is not a minor thing - if you control speech you control thought and they know this, believe me I was smack dab in the middle of it for 4 years). I am also in awe at the stamina and fortitude he has displayed in the face of such relentless attacks from all sides, especially at his age. Respeck.
But most of all, I'm thankful to have a President who unapologetically loves America and the principles upon which it was founded, as embodied in the Constitution. None better in the world. I'm with you boys - I want this country back.
