They're the most privileged people in the world, and they can't handle it.

What is privilege?

Privilege is wearing $200 sneakers when you've never had a job.

Privilege is wearing $300 Beats headphones while living on public assistance.

Privilege is having a smartphone with a data plan which you receive no bill for.

Privilege is living in public subsidized housing where you don't have a water bill, where rising property taxes and resntrents and energy costs have absolutely no effect on the amount of food you can put on your table.

Privilege is the ability to go march against, and protest against anything that triggers you, without worrying about calling out of work and the consequences that accompany such behavior.

Privilege is having as many children as you want, regardless of your employment status, and be able to send them off to daycare or school you don't pay for

Privilege is sending your kids to school early for the before school programs and breakfast, and then keeping them there for the after school program . . . all at no cost to you . . . paid for by the people who DO HAVE TO DEAL WITH RISING TAXES AND COSTS! ... you know, us so called "PRIVILEGED" the ones who pay while you TAKE TAKE TAKE!

I was in a mall a few years ago and saw all of these people lined up. I thought, "That's weird. I haven't heard of a new phone coming out or some other common waste of money." Then I saw they were lined up in front of Foot Locker. "Odd," I thought, "Must be a celebrity there today signing autographs."

Nope, these people were lined up to buy fucking ugly ass Air Jordans at several hundred dollars a pop.

Meanwhile I have deal alerts set up to buy shoes when discounted. I live within my means and save for a rainy day.

"I know a guy who makes 100k+ selling sneakers to retards."

Seems like a good way to get shot.

In my State, a trio of joggers tried to rob a man for new shoes. The joggers didn't get in line in time to buy the new ones, one pulled a gun on someone who bought a pair (fucked around), at which point the victim pulled a gun and fired one shot, killing the mugger (found out). The police and courts did not arrest or charge the victim who defended himself. They arrested the other 2 involved in the mugging, and were contemplating slapping them with murder charges for taking part in the attack. This was a few years ago, I think '14 or '15. https://www.fox19.com/story/27682233/middletown-teen-shot-killed-at-dayton-mall/

Nobody should be poor. There's a million ways to make a million dollars.

This is absolutely false.

There's many, many people who will always be poor due to mental illness or low IQ.

I know people with down syndrome who are regional walmart managers.

Mental Illness can be compensated for with work ethic and ability to follow simple instructions.

If you have no work ethic, you could be the next einstein and it would be pointless.

A low IQ man can buy a little cart and a jumpsuit and sell his services to rich people who own many pets, picking up the pet shit on their property. The only overhead would be the cost of bags. He can save his money to buy a vehicle, like an ATV or something, to pull that cart, and while now he has to buy gas, he can work faster and cover more land. If he makes enough, he can buy a second cart/vehicle and hire someone and double his range. I know that I, though I am not rich, would gladly give a man 2 bucks a visit to come by maybe three times a week to pick up my dog's turds. It would take him maybe 2 minutes to make those two bucks. The next two houses down from me also have dogs, skip a house, then three more with dogs. All of our back yards are accessable without passing through the house, many of them yard-to-yard. Potentially, the Low IQ Poop Man could make like 14 bucks on my side of the street alone in 10 minutes. Across the street are another seven or eight houses with dogs, one of which has three! Charge four, five bucks for them per visit (group rate) and move on.

The insane can't hold a job, sure. But Low IQ? Don't have to be smart to put your nose to the grindstone. And this is America. Our "poor" is 99% of Human History's "Quick, bow down, this is either a King or a God, but no matter what don't offend him, lest he smite us!"

Whats your point? You're jealous of nice shoes, you can't afford nice shoes or they don't deserve nice shoes? I collect Jay's because I can, you just sound envious tbh.

Spending 100s of dollars on shoes made by Chinese slaves under horrible working conditions for $.50 an hour isnt really anything to be jealous of.

This. A company makes a thing like shoes or a jersey and they arbitrarily decide their product will be limited and valuable because they know dumbasses will pay any price to possess "something special". There is big money to be made in the "limited and valuable" market because some people really are that stupid.

For another example, look no further than how big jewelry has scammed the world over pretty rocks.

Fashion is foreign to me, particularly the men who like to peacock it up. I can understand buying a pair of American made leather shoes like Allen Edmonds or something buy buying Chinese made shoes made by a company that openly hates Americans?

We should pass a law where social media posts/texts/emails from "Obamaphones" have to have some kind of "Scarlet Letter" icon next to them. Maybe a "Government Cheese" emoji. I bet you usage would plunge.

We should pass a law where social media posts/texts/emails from "Obamaphones" have to have some kind of "Scarlet Letter" icon next to them.

Maybe you don't understand the purpose of the phones.

Regardless of what (any) percent of the population uses them for, they are to provide a means for people that you are currently deriding, to get jobs. And even if 0.5% of the population uses them for that, doing your bullshit would reduce that number.

So, kindly, fuck off.

Yeah but what kind of a life is that for them? It's not really privileged. Just easy and spoiled. The children don't get to eat breakfast at home with their family and enjoy a family meal. They're not home being loved and enjoying family time after school. It's not nice living in public housing, they don't have a nice house or live in the suburbs. It seems privileged but it's really disadvantaged so they're not getting the better end of the deal. Definitely not ideal.

JBPrickster 7 points ago +7 / -0

I think the point here is that, ultimately, many poor people often take no steps to lift themselves up from poverty, and instead milk the existing support systems for all they have. They complain about the public housing, but then spend half of their disposable income on consumer goods, etc.

This is the entire point, kinda surprised even one person doesn’t get it haha. Grew up on the south side of STL and remember being a small kid looking around and already thinking/saying What the fuck are all these people doing with their lives??

10, 18, 45 year old people with zero drive, zero motivation to do ANYTHING but they will complain all fucking day about how they’re being held down by evil white people. Entire neighborhoods and cities of them. They look at nice neighborhoods and will swear those people didn’t have to do any work to get what they have, they will swear the only reason they’re not there is because they’re black. These people refused to complete a single homework assignment in 5th grade and are pissed they’re still living on the same block at 40.

I got the fuck out and NEVER went back.

Oh yes I know. : ). I just mean it may seem like they're kind of getting a better deal than some but honestly they're not because they're are trading off better things they could have if they didn't do that stuff.
