I think she’s also Indian 😂.

She’s at least a Hare Krishna; some of those people are white though (a lot).

Unless you're muslim, in which case you're a horribly oppressed minority of only 1.5 billion occupying perhaps 1/3 of the landmass of the planet. [numbers totally made up but not too far off prolly]

You're almost spot on. 1.8 billion, and yeah, close to 1/3 of the landmass is muslim majority nations.

Huh, well that's just 1/3 of the planet I won't ever go to.

You'll never convince the Democrats of this fact. Nothing is independent of race according to those racists.

As soon as morons are like "you dont like Muslims? that's because you dont like brown people!"

me: look at the muslims who attacked and killed children in Russia.. look at their skin color, they are white. Now what?

Them: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I always bring up the incident in the Philippines when that card gets played. Muslims (Filipino ones) drug their city's police chief into the street and cut his head off in broad daylight, then fought an armed conflict against the government.

She's not a hare krishna, she's Hindi. There's a huge difference. Her mother was a practicing Hindi, even though she was 100% European.

PepesCovfefe 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ok; I thought she was Hare Krishna.

There’s a difference for sure but there is a lot of crossover as well.

I believe Tulsi and her parents were in an anti-gay Hare Krishna sect run by Chris Butler.

Science of Identity was founded in the 70s by a white man named Chris Butler as off-shoot of the wider Hare Krishna movement, , who also goes by the guru name of Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa. Butler

When Tulsi was 14, her father founded a nonprofit called Stop Promoting Homosexuality America and began hosting a radio show called “Let’s Talk Straight Hawaii.” Her parents owned an organic deli, located inside a larger natural...

Great info; thanks!

Hare Krishna, as I understand it - and I don't claim any expertise in it, is Bhakti Yoga, but Tulsi is Karma Yoga. There's 3 streams of "yoga" in Hinduism, so while both are Hindu, she's Catholic to their Baptist practice. And that analogy may be flawed.

Hindi is a language, not a religion. You may be thinking of Hindu religion.

labiator 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hindu Hindi is the language. As in hindu nuthin.

TD_Covfefe_Crusader 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yep, some Hawaii based organization that draws from Hinduism, named Science of Identity Foundation.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulsi_Gabbard#Early_life_and_family

Gabbard was raised in part according to the teachings of the Science of Identity Foundation (SIF) religious community and its spiritual leader, Chris Butler.[37][38][39] She has said Butler's work still guides her.[40] In 2015, Gabbard called Butler her guru dev (roughly, "spiritual teacher").[28][41] Gabbard's husband and ex-husband have also been part of the community.[41][38] Gabbard has been reluctant to speak publicly about the SIF.[39]

Gabbard embraced the Hindu faith as a teenager.[27][42][43] Her first name comes from the Sanskrit word for holy basil, a plant sacred in Hinduism.[44] Her siblings also have Hindu Sanskrit-origin names.[27]
