Something is really off here. Shell companies taking money and then filtering it back. Not good. SDNY would have to have set up all of this up to try and hang them. I dont think they did. He gets invited to a lot of events, free handouts, and has a hot as hell wife. Pictures get taken. He is making no where near enough based on what outcomes he gets. Sure, some rich republican gives him a ride on a private jet because why wouldn’t you support a disabled vet who is accomplishing such huge things. They fucked up on the bylaws and didn’t have a quorum of directors to vote in new directors to have a quorum to change the bylaws. Yes, they screwed up a bit because this was a guy trying to do his best. What we need to ask is what was fair and just? The government made a military vet trying to do the right thing for his country jump through insane hoops and then got him tangled up in process errors with those hoops. They tried to “fix” the problem by having another organization actually provide the payment. This is the exact definition of the swamp. Force people down a maze of ever changing process and fuck them to the maximum when they make an error. The honest intent is clear if you look at the chain of events, the history of the government fucking him in new ways at every step, and the amount of the alleged fraud.
Not sure how this will turn out but its starting to look more and More that its Not bannon. It may be Kolfage and wife living the High Life. 20K a Month? the SDNY is not trustworthy but it looks like GoFUNDME was who was suspicious of the Money and ratted them out. .

240K salary to do what he has done is the deal of a lifetime. If someone came in for an interview with his resume, I wouldn’t think about anything lower than 240K/year. Many projects in companies aren’t anywhere near as difficult and worth at least 500k/year for someone who can get the job done. This project was way more difficult and way more valuable than 240k/year.
Most charities have salaries and expenses -- some only pay out 10 cents on the dollar to the charity itself. My understanding is that this charity spent 90 cents on the dollar towards the wall. The issue seems to be that promises were made to donors that no one would take any salaries, that it was all volunteer. I would think there were still expenses, but I suppose that will all come out at trial.
I don't know if Bannon & Kolfage stole anything or not, or if the SDNY which has been very anti-Trump while ignoring Dem problems is simply trying to tar Trump before the election. If you watch Bannon's podcast he has been going hard against the Chinese government -- that makes me go "hmmm" too.
Their original plan was easy and didn’t require much overhead. What they didn’t account for was multiple agencies from many branches and levels of government grinding things to a halt. Every possible bureaucratic obstacle was thrown in their way to the point where they had to have someone paid to solve issues. The legal bills had to be insane, but they didn’t tell donors they would be feeding the beast to fight the government legal obstruction. They were boxed into a corner on the pay issue because they made statements before the full weight of government clamped down on them. They also made procedural paper mistakes that were hard to undo. What you are seeing here is a Mike Flynn situation and not a Bernie Madoff.

He said it would be a volunteer effort, but the full weight of many levels of government came down on him to stop the will of the people.
