The way the wording was as originally submitted? "Repeals the Gas Tax" What did it say on the ballot in November? "A measure to repeal certain funding the state government uses to repair roads and bridges" Not only that but you should have seen the commercials, it was some deliberate "Who's on First" kind of bullshit meant to confuse the shit out of you
Soon as I saw that back in fucking June I knew what the vote was going to end up being in November, the IQ of the average Cali voter is below room temperature. Sucks ass because you can see on the gas pumps how much the price of gas is increased by different taxes and back in May when gas was just over 2 dollars a gallon, there was still a 47 cent increase from that bullshit gas tax. Newsom is a cunt for that alone, let alone all the other bullshit.
I was livid about that, it was sooo fucking blatant how they twisted the words. Soo many people I asked voted the wrong way because they twisted the hell outta the wording. Fuck California
Not to mention many people will see the name of the bill, see "affirmative action" and say "I'm ok with this" and vote yes, without ever thinking about what the bill actually does.
Repeal the gas tax, vote yes to keep the gas tax and No to repeal it. Then tout a "no" vote as taking away from building roads, eventhough the money from the gas tax goes to the general fund.
