that's not..... That is not what Mormons believe.... at all. I am not Mormon but I used to be one..
according to Mormons...
He didn't walk across the ocean he transcended into heaven and then descended into the Americas.
he didn't "Ignore" the Native Americans he came down and talked to the major civilizations in the Americas Which according to the Mormons were a group of people called the Nephites and the Lamenites. (no evidence of their existence has been found)
There was a bloody war near the end and the scriptures were taken by Moroni he fled north and hid the golden plates there.
the plates were not in English. Joseph Smith used a device found with the plates to translate them.
So I am not Mormon. But before you talk trash on anyone at least be informed what they believe in before you spread nonsense otherwise we are no better than the left.
Thanks for sharing that. Ellen G White (Seventh Day Adventist), like Joseph Smith, was also distorting and twisting and adding fake Revelations to the holy scripture. I’m curious can I ask you a question. You used to be Mormon, what compelled you to leave the church? Is it true that if you leave the church you aren’t allowed into the community and even families will disown their own blood?
Being disowned is a legit fear when you are a teenager.. But, it doesn't really happen. the Family might give you the cold shoulder. but, overtime they remember that they love you. If you make a BIG sin like murder or denying the holy ghost you can be excommunicated where basically they wont talk to you.
I left because I couldn't believe it. as a rational human being I kept finding fallacies in their stories. that and I felt guilty ALL THE TIME for normal thoughts for a teen aged boy to have... A lot of it is brainwash and mind control. your whole life is rooted in that faith. Your friends are Mormon
your community is Mormon. Then you start to question. once that happens its a snowball effect. I became an atheist . Because once you realize your life has been a LIE you tend to go to the polar opposite. Being an atheist was far worse than being a Mormon. I was insanely depressed. While I was in the military I talked to the chaplains and mental health professionals. after years I found out my depression and anxiety stemmed from mmy lack of spiritual growth. I went on a journey finding out everything I could about every religion. I am still in that quest but I have found my spirit.
I believe in God again ( but not a man of flesh and blood living on a planet called Kolob which is what Mormons believe ) God to me is Everything. All of existance is god the infinite mindscapes you can create. God is the infinite.
Basically I have found a theory which is Read everything pick and choose what works for you because it is your truth. What you believe is true to you. what you believe creates your perception of the world and perception is your reality. So i try to be cognizant of my perception and I tend my mind like a garden.
Thank you that was beautifully written. I am on your side and God is with you, the God of your understanding is the only God you need. I pray to Jesus and I’ll ask that he protects over you and blesses your life. You discovered that you have to have a spiritual center or life is a living hell. I’m happy you were able to break away from the Twisted Mormon church
People like me have a hard time with in the Church. But, there are many who have happy lives in the church. I do miss the sense of community found with in the church and they overall have a good moral system. I just couldn't do it anymore your previous comment left a tear in my eye thank you.
One of my best friends came from a Mormon family. He eventually understood the brainwashing for what it was, and told his family he was no longer Mormon. They didn't physically abandon him, just emotionally. He became the black sheep. He was left isolated and alone, his family didn't treat him the same because he wasn't going to go to the planet with them as a family after they all died. He got into drugs. He's also gay but repressed it because he wanted his family to love him. The whole 8 years I've known him, he's just been on a quest to love himself, like someone would be if they found out their family doesn't love them. He's always gotta be the center of attention, but I know he's very lonely and sad.
The cult makes happy and well connected families, unless you're not part of it. And their beliefs can't stand up to modern scrutiny. This is a recipe for people who think for themselves, and even believe in God but not in their version of it, to live sad, horrible lives. It is a CULT, because you can never leave without abandoning your family (when it is really them abandoning you!)
