Our church, just like the rest of America, is seeing a major upswing in our youth becoming enlightened atheists. Unfortunately, the left is poisoning Christianity all over the place.
That said, none of these kids are being cut off from their families or "shunned" or anything. My own brother left in his teens and we were sad but he never missed any family events or was treated differently. He just didn't attend with my parents on Sundays.
If I were to leave right now though, my wife and grandma would be devastated. Perhaps not so badly if I went to another religion. If I denounced God and turned atheist, it might actually kill my poor grandma lol.
I hear they are a bit extreme. If you were to suddenly not be Mormon anymore, how would your family and church see you?
