I wish I knew. Personally I think it's "failed presidential candidate syndrome". Look at the last 4. Hillary, Romney, McCain, Kerry. They all hate America. Like hatred borne from shame or something.
Or just corruption. There are rumors that Romney is tied up into the Ukraine thing with Biden and Pelosi. Either way I promise you we hate Romney here. Every day I drive by a billboard that states "Mr Romney Please Resign".
I'm a Mormon as well and I cannot stand Mitt Romney. He already demoted his faith during his 2012 bid for President. I also believe him to be corrupt as 'TheSwiftPepe' mentioned above.
Since Mormons believe in striving for perfection over the length of an eternity, through Jesus Christ and repentance, we are therefore very susceptible to blackmail for our imperfections.
There's no reason to alienate your Mormon friends and neighbors. Most of us fight just as fiercely for the same things as the rest of you. Life, liberty, and eternal happiness. Seek us out when things get bad. We can be great allies.
Yeah, OK. Teaching and learning is cool, but I just don't like where it leads though. In other words, as humans, we can strive for perfection, but we cannot achieve it because only God is perfect.

I had never heard some of my mormon friends and family that I grew up with express such disgust as they did at Mitt Romney.
We had to remind each other that we're better than that.
