Never watched Nascar. In MotoGP and F1, there is one tire company. They have a series of tires made of different compounds to choose from that teams may choose from for each race. Teams are limited to those tire choices from one manufacturer and are further limited by total number of tires for the year including practice. There's some effort to keep certain things the same to encourage skill vs pocket book.
