Yeah I've been dying to gtfoh for years now, I've hated NYC for a long time now (born and raised). The experience of growing up here in the 90s was cool and all and it will always hold a special place in my heart, but its nothing like it used to be and hasn't for a while now.
I'm thinking either North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Arizona, or Georgia... pretty much anywhere thats not here.
All of those choices are better than where you are now. Once home doesn’t feel like home anymore there’s not much reason to stay any longer than you have to. Maybe some day NYC will come back but between the mayor and the governor they’re doing enough damage to ruin it forever.
Yeah its really scary to see man... I was born and raised here, I was in 2nd grade when 9/11 hpnd, I used to be proud to be a New Yorker, even though its blue... but this def don't feel like home no more... feels more like I'm trapped on garbage island.

Damn. I’m sorry you had to see the place you grew up descend so fast. You gotta escape from garbage island.
