I grew almost 6 inches during the summer between 7th and 8th grade. I never grew another inch, but those 4 or 5 months were pretty painful and traumatic. I can only imagine what it must be like for Barron. Hey, at least his parents can buy new clothes that fit for him every month, so there's that.
Had a friend in high school who was around 4ft 10. I remember he was in ROTC and they had a hard time getting him a uniform that fit. When we were seniors. within the span of about half a year, he grew to be taller than me at the time and I was about 5ft 11. It was crazy.
Imagine all your bones growing 6 inches during two months... Speed growth hurts like a fuck, and your whole body gets stretched and you dont get enough muscle mass to fill it during two months so you look like an anorexic alien. Also trouble sleeping due to the pain.
I only grew like 8cm during my biggest growth summer so didnt have the anorexic alien part, but a friend of mine went from dwarf to giant alien
Well, it wasn't two months, It was more like 4 or 5, but yeah, I looked like a skeleton. I was 6 foot when I went into 8th grade and weighed about 110. I graduated High School at 128 and after boot camp I was 129. My brother didn't grow nearly as fast as me, but he was 6'1" and weighed less than me when he graduated a year later.
I remember my recruiter kept begging me to eat more (I was eating everything in sight). I asked him why and he told me that the Navy had a minimum weight limit of 126 for my height before we would have to file for some kind of special permission for me to go to boot camp.
What are they feeding him?!?

My joints couldn't keep up. It hurt a lot. Spent most of that summer laying on a bed.
