I am brown and I have truly experienced racial prejudice only a handful of times. Couple of times it was from my fellow countrymen (from a different sub group).
Once in Singapore by a Chinese shop keeper.
Once in rural Japan.
Once by an Eastern-european old neighbour who later became a friend.
Rest of the times it was by black people.
And I have spent more than 75% of my life in Western countries.
I hear you. I was in US during 9/11 and everyone went very cold for a couple weeks. I was bracing myself for some violence against anyone who looks like a muslim, but things quickly went back to normal, and I was surpised the kind of camaraderie I felt from my White colleagues, especially once they realised that we were all feeling the same way as them.
I must say that most of the false flags did not have the intended effect because of how inclusive Americans are.

I think I was for about a week after 9/11 because I used to look more ALLAHLALALA before the tomato and beans kicked in
