I hear you. I was in US during 9/11 and everyone went very cold for a couple weeks. I was bracing myself for some violence against anyone who looks like a muslim, but things quickly went back to normal, and I was surpised the kind of camaraderie I felt from my White colleagues, especially once they realised that we were all feeling the same way as them.
I must say that most of the false flags did not have the intended effect because of how inclusive Americans are.
I think I was for about a week after 9/11 because I used to look more ALLAHLALALA before the tomato and beans kicked in
