Nearly a quarter of the US population is under the age of 18 (voting age), so the initial cost would be cheaper than the 1.6b.

Give them the voting card after they sign up for the Selective Service.

The very poor in USA, those in meth clinics, the indigent, etc. Are more aware of the general working public about obtaining Free social services from their cities.

To get their benefits they need: Drivers license/ID Mailing address proof

TIL: All poor in the USA have photo ID.

I'd personally argue that if you're so impossibly poor that if you legitimately can't afford the $10 or so that an id costs, you don't deserve to vote.

It's not even $10 a year or anything. They're valid for at least 10 years. Impossible that you can't save up $1 a year.

The democrats would argue that there should be no requirement for substating documents. Can't require a birth certificate or anything because they might have been lost.
