See, I guess as a second-gen I don't notice those things because I just interpret it as a familiar way of speaking. It really takes an outside observer sometimes. :)

Us first generations are really really blunt, don't filter out racial features and generally use noticeable features of others as descriptors.
Basically, we never got into the whole PC indoctrination thing.
