I agree. I didn't like the mom telling the boy to go get his hat back. I was glad that she stopped that and started asking for it back herself instead.
I'm guessing it was a "lets teach my son to not get bullied" then realized he is way out classes and that these two woman are fucking crazy but wackos.
I'm not gonna blame her too much, her only major fault was assuming these two women were logical thinking humans.
In most cases telling your son to go stick up for himself is the right thing to do but this was way too much and escalated by crazy zealots.
