Not sure how you would go about ensuring that the device was being used by the individual, unless you worked it based on a biometric key, but biometrics has its own problems and vulnerabilities. You'd also have to figure out how to ensure the device itself was not compromised by spyware/malware. You'd have to purge the rolls regularly (although that should be pretty easy to do electronically, I'd think).

I dunno, I'm open to the idea, but there'd have to be a plethora of precautions and some kind of traceable "paper" trail and there's a slew of vulnerabilities that I'm not convinced we could easily solve.

Good answer. It's promising tech judging by the success of bitcoin but I don't think we're ready to vote nationally using it, especially remotely

No.

Still no, its not that hard to go vote. Make national election day a holiday.

Spez: I expect elections to provide greater scrutiny of ID than flying somewhere.

If it could actually meet those requirements, yes.

Showing up in person. Making the time and being verified is an important thing to do. Voting is a privilege. I don't trust tech to not be hacked in some fashion at some time.

If it's easy and verifiable, sure. Making voting more accessible to citizens isn't a bad thing.

Yes. Especially if it used the Digibyte blockchain, thereby increasing the value of the Digibyte I currently own by one million percent.

Democrats would never let it happen, unless they could still cheat somehow.

Make Election Day a national holiday, the first Friday after TAX DAY.

Vote in person only unless you have a doctors note or some other serious reason to absentee vote

Use paper scan sheets, a clear ballot box monitored by anyone who wants to sit and watch it throughout the day. This way people can catch ballot stuffing.

Count ballots in the center of the room in full view of anyone that wants to witness the count. Publish the counts for the precinct for all to see so that they can verify at the state level that the count reported up to the state matches.

bitcoin has been hacked several times, I dont believe this 'easy' and 'trustworty' system exists and i doubt that it could even be created

Bitcoin has NEVER been hacked

A 17 year old kid recently hacked twitter and got a bunch of people to give him their bitcoin, maybe in the strictest definition not a hack, but people are gullible and stupid, also the people who would design a blockchain voting system would be pulled from bigtech, so no i dont support this system

How familiar are you with blockchain technology? So far bitcoin has been operational for over ten years without even one instance of the blockchain failing. If the blockchain system underlying btc was able to be hacked the value of btc would go from 12k to mere pennies overnight. Btc holds its value because the tech it is based on is infallible
