If you aren't willing to risk a minimal fine to defend your rights, you can't claim to be ready for the real fight that is coming.

This is an escalation process. We don't just go from silent majority to 1776. We must progress through the steps and inspire the will to fight in those around us before they will wake up.

Might I suggest a fund created to help pay fines for violations?

Edit: to be clear, I'm not anti-mask. I'm anti-mandate. If you are symptomatic then you should be wearing a mask to prevent transmission.

I'm not afraid of a few fines. I can pay those.

I'll lose my job due to my employer's personal behavior clause. That's what's keeping many Americans from not wearing masks.

This is my issue too! I will flat out lose my job.

I suppose the question is, where is that line for you? How far can you risk your freedoms being eroded before you are willing to risk losing your job?

I have kids and bills and so I can fully sympathize with your concern.

Serious question: What do you think they'd have to do before you'd say they've crossed a line and you are ready to take that risk?

Great questions! I don’t have all the answers. But I can explain what I am doing.

For our family, the medical benefits I get from work are critical because we are facing a medical crisis and we flat out can’t afford to be without VERY good insurance. We also have aging parents who live nearby who need us so we can’t just move to find new jobs as we used to do.

So how do I oppose tyranny? A million ways. I network. I send money. I red-pill those who are in our social circles who still don’t have a clue. I pray. I shop at places that support my beliefs. And I refuse to where my mask whenever I CAN. But when it comes to work (or church), I do what I must because I can’t afford to lose my job .... or my soul.

Fair enough.

Is this behavior outside of work? Or are you required to wear a mask at work?

Not to be harsh, but it may come to that for many of us. We shouldn't be afraid to risk that if the time comes. But I won't tell you if that time is here for you yet, or not. That's up to you.

I do think there could be room for legal recourse if they were to terminate you. We may need to make this mask thing a religious or political speech issue.

Same. It's been company policy for about two months now to wear a mask on site.

People at work are getting pretty sick (heh) of the company's mandatory mask order, and quite a few of us were starting to become more lax in wearing them. But, the upper management just had a meeting and decided to double-down on the order, and now they're hounding us more often to make sure we're wearing them "properly". It doesn't help that the CEO is a bit of a health freak and a germphobe in the first place, which I think further fueled the establishment of the policy.

I just find the whole thing half-assed and ill-advised; masks have a purpose and can be effective and curbing spread when properly utilized, but forcing employees to wear the same one all day can compromise health more than it helps to stop viral spread.

Especially since we're either given only one disposable, non-N95 mask per day, or we can use our own, which runs the gamut from reusable cloth masks that people rarely wash, to just covering your face with a bandana like a train robber.
