I'm okay with removing under god from the pledge because it wasn't in there originally - we're supposed to have freedom of religion, and the state isn't supposed to be able to establish or tell you it worships a god or which one. And it messes up the flow of the poem. It's especially ironic to put it in right before "indivisible", to prove just how easily we can be divided by it.

I pledge allegiance to the flag

of the United States of America

and to the republic for which it stands,

one nation, indivisible,

with liberty and justice for all.

Not with liberty and justice just for Christians who get their god on money and in the pledge at the expense of everyone else they are divided against. I'm not so desperate for fascism that I have to overreact and destroy the nation and crush her people with a red scare. The inclusion of "under god" in the pledge is a dark stain tied to the loss of rights and freedoms of everyday innocent Americans who got witch hunted and murdered in a fit of delusional hysteria.
