Im athiest lol. Im saying he knows why it was added, he knows it refers to a god of a predominantly Jewish/Christian nation which is why he wont say it. Because its true. It might just say “God” but he knows it wasnt truly added as a pure ambiguous dictionary definition of the word. And lets be real it wasnt. So by saying it he would be admitting a God exists that he is told or believes doesnt exist.

He would be recognizing the legitimacy of rival religions, and deep down, regardless how friendly some people of Islamic faith may be at any given point, their faith IS political. Its not a religion. And all other faiths to islam are the opposition.

Afaik, the god part was added in later. 1954 according to a google search. So technically not there because the founding fathers thought it would help and protect the country.

Ok i get what you're saying. He has a phobia and intolerance to others, but wants his islamic religion accepted. Well the usually double standard bullshit attitude.

In which case his pledge shouldn't count!

I know it was added in the 50s my comment was said assuming you knew that. It was added in direct opposition to communists, and to recognize what we know is the true foundation and building block to our civilization.
