I'm gonna say something spooky. The reason its been treated like a cold front building is virtually every President is not a real president. They are a front couple conducting fake governance in a building that is largely ceremonial.
JFK and Jackie were the real deal. They were popularly elected and JFK was targeting some dangerous groups including the Federal Reserve and the Deep State that Eisenhower warned about. Trump and Melania are now in that role.
