Denverite checking in. Capitol Hill is an absolute shitshow unless the cops just did a sweep to clear out the homeless. There's a permanent encampment I see every time I go to the grocery store, every trip to 16th st mall results in at least 1 unpleasant encounter with begging or harassment, and at least on reddit no one seems to care that our city is overrun with homeless people and our shelters are not at capacity. In person, no one thinks that this is acceptable. However, that's just the people I know. Denver leans far to the left, so I'm sure it will only get worse.
