I've been out of school a loooong time so I ask, when did the schools start giving students laptops? And why? Just to cry about not having enough money? What kind of fuckery is this? What's wrong with notebooks, #2 pencils, books and the library (which we also pay for)? https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/more-than-300000-student-laptops-wont-arrive-in-time-for-school-year

That alone is all the reason to homeschool.

Faster to learn stuff. Faster to access information.

Kids don't know how to write using pens/pencils anymore. They don't know how to write in cursive either.

Can't compete because teachers dumb down the class to the lowest common denominator.

Literally ranted to my family about this. Read an article earlier about how the laptops are delayed because of sanctions Geotus put on china. When i was in school laptops did not exist. Kids who were not allowed to come to school ,their parents would pick up school work at the beginning of the week and drop off finished work on friday. They had all of their textbooks at home, worksheets, some were sent vhs tapes with lessons. Why cant the schools do this now? Wouldn't burning some DVDs with the lessons be cheaper than laptops?

they started with netbooks. then ipads. neither of which are sufficient for the task at hand.

the IT costs are stupid. these things get lost (sold), stolen and broken.

Most questions like this can be answered by asking another question:

"Who gets rich from this decision?"

My guess is our "leaders" are heavily invested in computer manufacturing stocks as well as distance learning companies. Also Microsoft is an industry leader in distance learning software for schools. You know the company started by that guy pushing the Plandemic that forces distance schooling.

But don't worry "It's for the children".

It's so they can activate the webcam and take pictures of the kids in their rooms without clothes on.

Seriously, there was a big scandal about it. It's all just spying.

Nothing wrong with student laptops. Don't be a luddite.
