How about we start "15 days to herd immunity" where everyone just fucking goes back to their lives and anyone who gets sick stays home.

ACuriousWingnut 117 points ago +117 / -0

Nah people have to live in fear 24/7, don’t you know?

59
AbsurdOpinion 59 points ago +59 / -0

Fear should never be an obstacle to living your life. That's the lesson that's been lost on the left.

No one should have to deal with that kind of hardship. The lunacy of a few despots is making life difficult for a lot of folks. I hope it has the effect of swinging PA solidly red this time around so we can stop this madness.

All PA pedes should read this: https://archive.is/Pr86a

(Archived link to a Forbes article about Governor Wolf. It's both well written and infuriating.)

We live in a Commonwealth.

One reason why this state is so fucked.

That and Wolf is taking every move out of Murphy and Cuomo's book.

I've had an issue with that cunt since he taxed the vapor industry 40% on wholesale.

People need to learn to accept fear as just another emotion. It’s good to have some fear, but people need to stop letting it dictate their lives.

I used to be afraid of needles and getting my blood drawn, then I realized that many people deal with it daily and they are still alive - I never died before... and I moved on with my life. Now I inject myself daily with steroids... no reason to fear some tiny metal sticks.

When I first enlisted, I was full of fear. Ended up spending some of my best years in uniform, overcame a ton of fears and insecurities while in. Again, I fought those fears. Jumping out of planes was no longer scary (if anything it got old really quickly), fast-roping felt like the playground, live fire in the shoot house became just another day at the office. Never would have done any of that if I cowered in fear.

When I first interviewed at my first big boy software developer job, I could have looked at the competition, cowered in fear and gave up before walking through the door... again, I dealt with those fears in a healthy way and ended up being pretty successful.

The issue is that so many of these people grew up coddled and never learned to cope. That’s why they have full blown attacks the second they feel that anyone is putting anyone else’s life in danger or doing something against the narrative. They were babied, never learned to grow a pair and live their lives. They need to be in fear because they always got their way when they were made to be uncomfortable. They need the normalcy of having someone reassure them that if they do something a certain way, the bad man can’t hurt them.

Mommy I’m scared, make it stop!

Funny story, the one kid who was coddled the most growing up when I was in elementary and middle school never grew out of it. He was the kid who cried when we were watching PG-13 movies without his moms permission. We always got in trouble because he couldn’t cope. Three temper tantrums even at age 14. He moved to a liberal stronghold after graduating college... now he’s a crossdresser who wears Lolita fashion in public.

upvote for truth pede

fear is an emotion like any other and what being a man is all about isn't not feeling emotions, but instead mastering them. this is what marcus aurelius meant when he talked about stoicism

the only time a man can be brave is when he is afraid, and life is a fearful thing. show bravery by not allowing the fear to consume you, and live your life in defiance of fear. this is what it means to be free.

There was a thread on reddit today in the new zealand subreddit and they live in full blown clown world it was horrifying to read through.

One person tested positive and took a bus.

In the entire country, one person caused absolute panic.

The comments were like they were discussing some type of dreadful terrorist attack or the end of the world, thanking God that they weren't on that bus and expressing genuine panic at the idea of someone having the flu.

Look into what Australia is doing. I don’t have a link as I heard about it from different podcasts. It’s insane.

5
The_Bloofy_Bullshark 5 points ago +5 / -0

You should check out that old school bodybuilder Lee Priest.

Dude is based as fuck. Was constantly making fun of the lockdowns in Australia and how stupid people were being with the mask bullshit. Kept pointing out how silly it was that you couldn’t walk on the beach. They shadowbanned him on IG a bit, he received warnings left and right, kept at it. I think they even suspended his account for a week or so. All because he was telling people to stop being pussies, if you’re sick or at risk just stay home and let everyone else live their lives.

THIS! Let's just open America and see what happens. I think we'd be better off in a couple weeks.

So will all of the states update their tyrannical restrictions as well? We need to push this, and get these masks off from healthy people immediately!

Seriously you can ignore many of these "restrictions" or whatever. Who is gonna know, who is gonna do anything about it? Just be aware of those who are snitch type people and avoid them and giving them too much info.

I'm pretty sure there is no way to enforce it anyway so fuck em.

Did you know they threw a massive music/pool festival in Wuhan China last week? There were thousands in attendance, it pools on floaty donuts, and not a mask to be seen from any of the videos.

The rest of the world has moved on. Our States have felt power and refuse to give it up.

13
The_Bloofy_Bullshark 13 points ago +13 / -0

I partake in risky behaviors. By now I should be dead from the Mu Goo Gai Pandemic. I haven’t worn a mask once, have gone to the gym, stores, beach, restaurants, parks, go on daily walks/runs, only thing I haven’t done at this point is lick someone from China.

I mean it might have something to do with me dying a while back from tax cuts... or was it the repeal of net neutrality... or wait was it the climate bullshit...? So hard to keep up.

I have traveled more this year than normal. I am taking advantage of the stupidity of everyone else. They stay home? I get the whole airport virtually to myself. It's been lovely.

32
PicklesMcClanahan [S] 32 points ago +32 / -0

With travel restrictions part of the new normal thanks to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has changed its recommendations for quarantine. The CDC previously recommended travelers quarantine for 14 days after visiting overseas destinations or arriving in areas with a high number of confirmed coronavirus cases, but that changed Tuesday.

This is the nature of propaganda here in "free" America. They pump out fake news and fake guidelines only to quietly correct the record later. They hope no one notices the corrections and the initial lies are burned into people's brains. The lies are the first in and last out of the human brains.

If anyone ever tries to call them on their bullshit they point to the correction and say "It was a simple mistake" & "It was an accident" & "See we corrected it".

Remember when 2 million Americans were going to die from Covid? "It was a simple mistake"

Or as Zero Hedge points out: "No one could have known!"

The Branch Covidians here in Oregon are urging Kate Brown to mandate a quarantine for all visitors entering the state. They also demand that she completely shut down bars, restaurants, and gyms across the state.

Kate Brown, authoritarian Democrat that she is, has hinted that she will do this.

6
The_Bloofy_Bullshark 6 points ago +6 / -0

Kate Brown knows her days are numbered. She’s literally doing anything to claw her way into keeping her position.

Note how right after the recall petition gained a bunch of traction in that one county, she had contact tracers somehow manage to find extremely high rates of infection and rolled it back to level 0.

The 14 day quarantine makes traveling impossible. Imagine telling your job that you need to take 3 weeks off because you want to go away for a week? 1 week for the trip and then 2 weeks to sit in your house for a stupid quarantine. Yeah, not happening.

1
pseudosapient 1 point ago +1 / -0

5 weeks, half the time.

2 week quarantine when you get there; 2 week when you get back.

4
Dev404 4 points ago +4 / -0

The CDC is focused more on politics now than their real jobs. You'd get better information reading a middle school health book about viruses and their transmission than anything the CDC recommends.

You heretic! Don't you know people are literally losing their sense of smell?!!?

Here you are saying that the millions and millions of people unknowingly afflicted with this innocuous virus, will pass it along to millions and millions of others who won't know they also have it, without material consequence?

You sir, are a plague rat(was called that on Twitter, probably by some junkie that lives in a shithole with sporadic typhoid outbreaks)

Yet Cuomo sent 1 hospital ships worth of capacity into nursing homes, killing many many more when they could've been isolated in their own rooms on the ship

14
MaxineWaters4Prez 14 points ago +14 / -0

Seconded. I'm burning my PTO bank because my hospital, like most, is empty (from lack of elective procedures), and they're telling us to take days off on a rotation.

We flattened the curve... In the second week of April. This is superfluous and beyond the shadow of a doubt political.

It's been nearly 6 months. Time to rip the bandaid.

deleted 8 points ago +8 / -0
3
Sporadica 3 points ago +3 / -0

Notice how it changed from flatten the curve and "# of deaths" to "we can't let the virus spread at all" and "# of cases"? Cases go up due to more testing but deaths go down, obviously this means Trump is evil.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
2
MaxineWaters4Prez 2 points ago +2 / -0

Back in July the testing increased month over month by a factor of seven. And the positive "cases" went up only 2.5x. So it's not even keeping pace with the test which is 50% accurate anyway.
