For your first I’d recommend the beretta 92x. Ultra reliable, less recoil than polymer frames, less expensive compared to 1911s and about on par with the most popular polymer framed guns, stupidly accurate, a favorite of expert shooters but also beginner friendly, with superior safety features compared to striker pistols. Then maybe get a smaller pistol for concealed carry when you do more research. Just my $.02.
