I agree, best solution is prevention so DO NOT allow the state to mandate the vaccine. It is almost impossible to get out of. Because even if you do get an exemption, you’ll be prohibited from certain public spaces, forced to wear a mask, or potentially lose your job. California campus’s have already prohibited staff and faculty from stepping foot on campus as of Nov1st 2020 if they refuse the 2020-2021 flu shot.

OP I love you, but I wish this post was true. Medical doctors have already heard all of these refusal attempts and claiming ‘adverse reactions’ is not considered a strong basis for an exemption. Claiming adverse reactions is like patients saying they have ‘food intolerances’, it doesn’t qualify as a real allergy, it usually has zero anaphylaxis risk. Doctors accept that ‘redness at injection site’ is an adverse vaccine reaction that is completely normal and not dangerous, if you develop it after a shot, physians will not disqualify you from getting subsequent shots.

I’ve seen patients refuse by saying they have an egg allergy (flu virus vaccine is grown in eggs from chickens).. but even that legitimate basis for refusal is rebuffed by doctors, they are trained to answer: “we’ll have an Epi on hand and we’ll give you the flu shot anyway”. Doctors will also go hard with rebuttals quoting “recent literature” or “scientific studies” prove the vaccine is safe. They’ll tell the patient that the adverse reactions they just quoted are so mild, it is not a justification for refusal. Doctors are more than prepared for any of these excuses.

From experience, these are the only 4 rasons that doctors tend to consider legitimate:

• You might be pregnant. Perfect excuse for new vaccines. Ask if teratogenic studies have been done . (There’s no way the ethics board at Moderna/NIH/Bill Gates got an insurance or approval to fast track and test the new covid vaccine on pregnant women. Most doctors don’t have a clue about the vaccine research literature and just parrot what Medline or Uptodate or Medscape tell them).

• Say a previous vaccine gave you GuillainBarre syndrome. Doctors are trained to say this is a one in a million side effect, a result of neurotoxins from the shot. This makes every doctor step back and accept your refusal when they found out you’ve had the syndrome. You can even add that you required immunotherapy to recover fully from the syndrome. GuillainBarre is diagnosed by a neurologist and is a form of ascending paralysis (loss of feeling starting in your toes gradually going up to your rib cage, it’s life threatening if the immunotherapy isn’t given before it paralyzes your breathing). There are milder forms of GBS, so that is easier to claim (“I had severe weakness in my legs, that lasted a week after my flu shot” will scare your doctor off). GBS is an exemption to vaccines almost ALL medical doctors will give you. But it needs to be told to a doctor who does not have access to your chart history.

• Say you are a jehova witness or any other religion that refuses: 1) stem cells products, 2) aborted fetus cells by products 3) or blood products. This makes all doctors step back. Because litigation is well documented and religious freedom usually wins.

• Say last Flu vaccine gave you anaphylaxis and you required Epi. Anaphylaxis is a clear exemption. But usually requires you to have an Epi prescription already prescribed in your chart for your doctor to believe you.

These are the only 4 exemptions I can think of. If any other medical pedes can think of more, please share.
