Do any of you have one? What do you think of it for a first gun? Want a balance of fun (shoot it a lot for cheap) and peace of mind having a gun in my house.
I'll probably get another gun within a year but as a starter what do you think?

I think it's a great starter, an inexpensive way to learn the basics that apply to larger calibers. When you move to larger calibers, you'll have to learn to shoot with the recoil, but it's manageable for normal calibers with practice. As far as home defense: .22 beats having nothing, but I'd very soon step up to 9mm, .40, or .45 and hollow points. In general you want the largest caliber that you can effectively and consistently shoot with for home defense. Just my .02.
