I love how quickly I can acquire a sight picture with just the holo and how easy it is to flip the magnifier for longer shots, it does add a bit of weight (wifes only complaint) but I like having the extra versatility that it gives.
Same setup here. Really depends on your intended use and skill level. If it’s primarily for fun, do what you’re most excited about! If you’ve built it for a SHTF situation, where do you live? Primarily urban area, go with the holo+flip mounted mag (looks like OP sprung for the G33 eotech magnifier, which is definitely the best, but vortex makes a good flip mounted mag you can use in the same way with an eotech holographic sight that is several hundred bucks cheaper). If you’re in a more rural area and most shots could be past a couple hundred yards (and your skill level makes this possible/you genuinely intend to train and get to this level of competence) then go with an LPVO or ACOG + RMR or other mini reflex sight from Vortex or Sig.
Hell yeah, anything’s good as long as you train with it, preferably doing more than just punching holes in paper standing still at your local range. I’d take a guy who has trained a little bit with a shitty bushmaster and iron sights over a guy with a $10k Gucci’d out rifle who hadn’t trained at all.
I wonder what percentage of pedes here spent their Trump bux on weapons or ammo? I know mine went towards my new Kimber Custom TLE II 45ACP. Good times.
It's an eotech HWS 512 (I didn't need night vision capabilities and I like the AA battery power, easier to find that the small coin battery) and a G33 flip up magnifier (3x). The grip and stock are both magpul, they come standard on the FN tactical 2.
Let me know how that 512 holds up/if they fixed the random shutoff issues with it. Might have to scoop one up for old times sake.
I love EOTechs, but I remember having to rip mine off since it wouldn’t stay powered on. Apparently it was a known issue a few years back according to the armorer I spoke to. Like it would randomly shut off even if the batteries were fresh. Something with contact springs. If they fixed it, I know where I need to throw some money.
Looks like you raided your old ladies bux too 😂
Money well spent. She’s a beauty pede.
Haha yeah she stays in the freedom loving parts of America
Those are the places you're gonna soon need one the most!
nice username
How do you like the holo with a magnifier? Trying to decide between that setup or a scope and canted sight.

Is red dot good enough for "peaceful protestors" after they start tearing shit down in my town?

W C Fields was known to say "I spent half my fortune on women and booze, the rest I squandered". This is money was well spent.
Never got any $$
You’re too wealthy. I got $5 :(
Don't forget to maintain a healthy guns-to-ammo ratio when allocating your RKBA budget.

Used mine for the same thing, built a 8" AR pistol and an 18" similar to this. Used 80% lowers and MOE PSA kits
Whats the flip rail you use? I need one myself. :0
That's a fine vegetarian repellent you have.
Wow very nice, ya ever hit yourself in the dick with that single point sling.

Same. Snagged an Aero M4E1 from the local shop. Super happy with it.
