Exactly. Right now, if you go to Kenya, you will se piles of clothes and shoes in the streets from our "charities" and aid programs. Those African countries cannot jumpstart an economy because they have a surplus of free shit from other countries. Unlike China and southeast Asia, which have budding cloth and tayloring industries (not dissimilar from the US in the late 19th and early 20th centuries), Africa has no means of starting an economy centered on cloth- one of the key exports for any 3rd world industrializing nation, and it's because of our foreign aid and lobbyists who want cheap labor from China and to keep their tayloring businesses at the top.

Start working on trade deals with individual African nations, if you truly want those countries to get out of poverty.
