I seriously don't understand why getting a college degree is still so highly celebrated these days. So you learn some stuff out of a book and could regurgitate it for a test in your room if you turn papers now you're some intellectual. So what? The real test is can you apply that knowledge rationally in the real world without constantly having to refer back to your text books looking for the answer to a problem you come up with in the wild. That's one of those things that I always have a grape within the software development in web development world that I work in so many people outside of where I work I see constantly relying on standardized materials and things that they worked on in college or textbook material or certification test material trying to find the answer to something that they come up with in real life that they need an answer I need to fix. The answer is not likely to be there yes you can Google the answer all you want and that's fine in fact it's encouraged to go and look it up if you don't know what the answer is and find it on your own. I do that multiple times a day when I run into something I've never done before and I'm looking for an example on how to use it but you should never go touting your piece of paper that you spend $100,000 on from some big-name University as the be-all and end-all of your education credentials and what you actually know.
Commie propaganda to go to school duh. If I wanted to learn something I wouldn’t go thru college I would simply use the internet or learn it somewhere else
I seriously don't understand why getting a college degree is still so highly celebrated these days.
Because most universities are controlled by the left, culturally and educationally. And the left also controls the media.
So what?
People, especially liberals, like castes. And this is a soft caste system.
The real test is can you apply that knowledge rationally in the real world without constantly having to refer back to your text books looking for the answer to a problem you come up with in the wild.
Not really. That just makes you a good technician. The actual goal of the so called liberal education (before the world liberal became synonymous to madness) was to make you a lightweight philosopher. The idea was that you train people to become self-teachable, by bringing them in contact with a wide-but-not-too-deep range of matters. This way, they may not be experts, but they would know enough to think and judge for themselves. In other words, the hope was that you would take sheep as input and produce humans as output.
These days the whole point is to take the students and train them to identify rationality with deference to their own intellectual authority. Even to critically analyze a "scientific" study is to be an idiot in their minds. You simply refer to the paper that you learned about from jezebel.com or whatever, and that means you are smart. Whereas anyone who actually reads the damn thing and criticizes it rationally is stupid and morally evil to boot.
In other words, the academics just take the sheep and make themselves the shepherd.
Plenty of smart pope with degrees vote Trump. Low tier ‘universities’ with nonsense degrees = unemployment and many fell for this stupid trap instead of thinking for themselves. I’ve know people like this. They could never learn HVAC repair, farming, automotive repair. Frankly, those schools will tell you that you’re not cut out for the job. Keep a D in ‘college’ however, and you’ll get the paper.
Because when you don't have any actual skills, talents, passions or abilities, then you need to acquired superficial credentials that cost money in order to feel validated. Most people are stupid, that's really what it always comes down to.
Yep. Never understood the obsession/need for a degree outside of upper management of a squadron or higher for most jobs. Especially if what your being taught in the degree is way to general if your job is specifically "militaryish". W/e for the officer pipeline, but the best officers I had were previous enlisted anyway.
Yes, but did you see the 2016 campaign interview of Hillary entering a minority poor person’s home? She looked pretty disgusted. I think Dems feel the same about all poor people, it’s just the white ones aren’t useful to them so they pander to minorities for votes.
And Hillary got the majority of people who have a bachelor's degree or higher.
Which begs to question, are these people with bachelor's degrees making less than $50K a year? Are they all feminine studies majors who are working at Starbucks cause they can't find a job? Probably.
Same here, Chemical Engineering. Apparently I must be one of those retarded rednecks that lives in a trailer even though I possess arguably one of the most difficult degrees to obtain.
I spent 4 years in college and I can absolutely tell you that college does not make you smart, in fact especially in recent years a lot of retarded people are going to college. People praise those who finished colleges even though it took them 10 years without realizing if it took you that long to finish a bachelors degree, and you took no breaks, then college probably was a mistake.
College can make you smart in one subject, but it will not teach you common sense or make you well rounded. Sure, you take electives, but if its just indoctrination classes then that does not teach you shit anyway.
Going to College =/= smart. Simple as that. Some of the smartest people I met never went to college, because these are the people that realized they could go farther in life without spending 4 years learning a subject. College is basically a 4 year pre-employment test that shows companies that you can commit to working towards something for four years.
Educated in NO way equates to intelligence or even knowledge. Most of these “uneducated” people are smarter and wiser than those with watered down college educations.
Ask any college graduate "man on the street" how to calculate the area of a triangle....I'll bet you $100 that they have no fucking clue....but any 20 year old Amish dude with an 8th grade education will tell you the answer and build a barn to specs for it in less than 72 hours.. ...talk about who the "dumb" ones are.
lmfao
So.... those without a college degree and the rich vote republican, and those with college degrees and the poor support democrats. Does that mean people with college degrees are poor?
I’ve come across several people with college degrees with shitty grammar and general lack of common sense. In addition, people who work in hard labor value their money and security better than those who offer opinions with no consequences.
So since I have a degree, I'll speak to the "educated" (LOL). Statistically speaking, the sum of 59% of the 65% non-college group AND 35% of the 35% college group is greater than Joe's 58% of 35% college and 27% of non-college - by quite a bit, so....
lmao...Not sure why some self righteous dipshits think that people who don't have college degrees are "stupid" people.
Many people with college degrees are complete morons....capable only of following directions until task completion. Many of them don't know how to THINK..much less think for THEMSELVES.
Having gone to college and gotten a degree, I can tell you that 95% of college classes are shit. Useless rehashing of high school classes...because people graduate from high school and still can't do basic math and don't have basic reading/comprehension skills. Frequently, all that you have to do to get an A in a college class is show up every day and get a passing grade on exams. Not A's on every exam...just passing. C grades and perfect attendance are good enough. lmfao
All through history....up through maybe the last 20 or 30 years? Anyone could self educate and be as smart or smarter than many college graduates....it's the recent phenomenon of the idea that if you don't have a college degree equating that you are 'dumb' is hilarious and in fact, nearly the opposite, that people that have college degrees tend to be the moronic idiots
This doesn't necessarily apply to person who have degrees in advanced sciences, but mainly to the people who go to college and get degrees in economics, history, liberal arts, etc etc. Many/most College Degrees after 1995 or so is a participation award for advanced high school education...and in many cases is actually remedial high school education. AOC, I'm talking about you.
I don't have a college degree. Failed all my classes in school. Worked 3 shitty jobs.
I'm now an owner of a successful financial company, writing over $500million in loans per year. These losers with their degrees are begging me for loans.
I have the sexiest based wife and two kids (with 3 more planned). I worship my Lord Jesus Christ and my life has only just begun. No brakes here!
I have three children - Irish triplets basically about 14 months apart - 25 24 23.
My two oldest have degrees. My youngest daughter was smart with good grades but decided against it and wanted to go to trade school for skin care. She was working full time after a year program (vs 4 years college) and zero debt and now owns her own spa/salon and just bought her first home at 23.
It reminds me of a joke....What do you call a person who graduates from med school and gets Straight A's?
Doctor
What do you call someone who graduates from med School with straight C's?
Doctor.
just because you kept showing up in a classroom everyday...doesn't make you "smart".
Libs love nothing better than to look down their noses at folks. I actually love this kind of stat as it shows the Dems to be uneducated in the realm of politics. Worked great in 2016, so full speed ahead!
If only college degrees these days actually helped people refine some skills or offered critical thinking. Unfortunately, it's a propaganda machine.
I would have no problem with higher education otherwise. This is why I have stalled for almost a decade to go back and get a Masters, but in what? These days, the curriculum has changed to add required classes about queers, blacks, women, and other bs racial and ethnic studies that have nothing to do with certain fields of study. It's just a way for people to waste time and money and leave without any substantial information.
Education should be a door for everyone to open and explore the world outside of the four walled institution. It's not been that for quite some time.
They think uneducated people envy them. They think their 70k a year salary is impressive to “uneducated” guys with trade certifications make easily double to triple that
Funny, though, when you divide college degrees by how much their degree is worth, then suddenly Trump's a winner again. It's just the college degree people who aren't even earning enough to pay for their school loans that don't want a president who holds people accountable for their actions.
I don’t believe that poll first off, but I can definitely see a large number of “college educated whites” supporting Biden. College educated does not mean what it did 20, 30, or 40 years ago. Back then, a college degree meant you were educated in engineering, historical philosophy, science, math, literature, physics, etc. In other words, you were educated in a useful subject that had actual real world applications.
Nowadays, colleges are accepting just about anyone and they have a degree for everyone, even the most twisted perversions. I remember meeting legitimate retarded people in my English 101 class who never even heard of Shakespeare. These are the same idiots who are demanding they not be penalized for misspelling and grammatical errors on their paper, and at the same time demanding safe spaces for their communist views. These so called college educated whites have degrees in gender theory and other ridiculous humanities.
I love how these smug assholes think people who don't have a college degree are stupid.
In 2016, Hillary got the the majority of people with a college or graduate degree. However, Trump got the majority of the votes of people who made over 50,000 dollars a year.
Ain't it weird, those who have degrees, were making far less money than those "uneducated, stupid people."
White male college degree. Publicly "voting for Biden" if someone asks point blank (because I work in tech and it would affect my contracts).
Privately voting for Trump. Didn't vote for him last time since I thought he was definitely going to lose. Won't make the mistake of believing the polls again.
Trust me. I’m in college. People in the post secondary education system are brainlets. Few thought provoking conversations that amount to anything substantive. Academics feels like some insipid disease that prays on the obsequious sycophants who prefer to look smart than be smart.
I went to college and dropped out 3 times because it was a cesspool of negativity and bullshit. First for industrial engineering with an eye on aerospace engineering, second for IT, and finally for astrophysics. I’m not an idiot—but I was dumb enough to make the same mistake 3 times. I wasn’t trying to learn diversity bullshit, I was trying to learn how to put a rocket into space.
Unfortunately, by the mid-2000s, colleges were already infested by the terminal SJW virus. Required English courses were already teaching that gender-specific phrases like mailman and manhole were sexist.
At least I was fortunate enough to have an older professor in my Moon and Planets course that personally knew a man that walked on the moon. His stories on that subject were some of my greatest memories of my failed college runs. That, and his brutal mother-in-law jokes. 😂
Not having a college degree doesn't make you uneducated and certainly not stupid. Even dropping out doesn't make you stupid. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are famous dropouts. There are educations and trainings other than college. And what about young people in their late teens or early twenties that haven't graduated college yet? Are they stupid and uneducated?
Because these dirtbag Biden supporters are all supported by government projects money working at nonprofit jobs that rely on government energy money. They support Biden out of self-preservation not any kind of wanting to reserve America
Retired from the Navy in 2001, 26y experience in electronics repair, maintenance planning, subsea acoustics, antisubmarine operations, $M budgets and manpower management. Went to work for a DoD/Aerospace outfit in a job as a project engineer, with similar- but different skills requirements (perfect fit for me). Because my work experience - not an engineering degree helped me get that job, I was limited in growth by a level-4 paygrade ceiling. Navy contracts was probably the biggest reason for my being there because I spoke the language.
I’m a “white” with a multiple college degrees and one of the things that I find disturbing is that people with an education could still back sleepy Joe and his satanic pedophile party. Our education system is fucking lost. It needs to be melted down and recast.
I do love that they still associate a degree with intellect. As if studying Lesbian Studies for 4 years makes them more intelligent that someone who started an HVAC company.
These people got no clue after the election when things really pop off and we stop delivering their food. They are in for a ruuuuude awakening. The red pill has to be taken somehow and for them it will be a suppository or just too late.
The dumbest person I know has more college credits than a doctor. You can call people without a degree uneducated, but you can't call them dumb. In most ways they're much smarter than those with college degrees.

Truth is it’s only been two years and I’ve forgotten most of what I learned in freshman year of college.
Because when you don't have any actual skills, talents, passions or abilities, then you need to acquired superficial credentials that cost money in order to feel validated. Most people are stupid, that's really what it always comes down to.
White female scientist outlier here as well.
Yep. Never understood the obsession/need for a degree outside of upper management of a squadron or higher for most jobs. Especially if what your being taught in the degree is way to general if your job is specifically "militaryish". W/e for the officer pipeline, but the best officers I had were previous enlisted anyway.
Another white female scientist checking in!
Not really. He won all household income levels over 50k. The idea that only poor people like him is absurd.
Notice how the Democrats look at poor people like they are vermin. Telling behavior.
Poor white people*
Yes, but did you see the 2016 campaign interview of Hillary entering a minority poor person’s home? She looked pretty disgusted. I think Dems feel the same about all poor people, it’s just the white ones aren’t useful to them so they pander to minorities for votes.
Dems have black without high school diploma locked you by about 80 points.
And Hillary got the majority of people who have a bachelor's degree or higher.
Which begs to question, are these people with bachelor's degrees making less than $50K a year? Are they all feminine studies majors who are working at Starbucks cause they can't find a job? Probably.
So... by those numbers, people who get useless degrees vote for Biden?
Gender studies and liberal arts majors really are starting to pay off. Not for the recipients, but for the radical politicans.
I bring this up everytime someone brings up the uneducated voters angle. Drives 'em nuts.
Same here, Chemical Engineering. Apparently I must be one of those retarded rednecks that lives in a trailer even though I possess arguably one of the most difficult degrees to obtain.

Doesn't CE need a degree? Or is it like the project leaders need a degree kind of thing?
Defense contractor data analyst voting trump here!
I'd be interested to see a breakdown by degrees. Lots of useless degrees probably vote 100% democrat.
Critical theory is the opposite of critical thinking.
more like critical diarrhea
Having a college degree doesn't necessarily make one smart.
Mine made me dumber. I would've learned more working with my hands for four years
Educated in NO way equates to intelligence or even knowledge. Most of these “uneducated” people are smarter and wiser than those with watered down college educations.

If you graduated with a degree in History/Womens Study/ Liberal arts...yes, probably Dumb as fuck and broke as fuck as well.
..voting for democrats because their life is...literally...dependent on social justice and welfare.
Unironically, yeah for a big portion of people who went to college.
I’ve come across several people with college degrees with shitty grammar and general lack of common sense. In addition, people who work in hard labor value their money and security better than those who offer opinions with no consequences.
A reply in the Twitter thread:
Making the important points.
There you go again assuming gender. 🤣

“President Hillary”
Perfect

Hmm that line from Fight Club suddenly comes to mind.
They think uneducated people envy them. They think their 70k a year salary is impressive to “uneducated” guys with trade certifications make easily double to triple that
70k a year before taxes minus 1500 a month after taxes for their student loans. 70k quickly became 48k.

My SIL has a PhD from an Ivy, she cannot manage her finances and still needs mom to help her. She isn't smart.
College graduates arent anything special. They just had the money to go in debt for a piece of paper(I say as I start my junior year of college)
White male college degree. Publicly "voting for Biden" if someone asks point blank (because I work in tech and it would affect my contracts).
Privately voting for Trump. Didn't vote for him last time since I thought he was definitely going to lose. Won't make the mistake of believing the polls again.
Yes going hundreds of thousands in debt for very little to show is peak Big Brain (coming from a college student with grants and scholarships).
Trust me. I’m in college. People in the post secondary education system are brainlets. Few thought provoking conversations that amount to anything substantive. Academics feels like some insipid disease that prays on the obsequious sycophants who prefer to look smart than be smart.
Bachelors degree in nursing here voting for trump lol.

Why do we even have high school when at the end we aren’t considered educated?
How to graduate college: show up and do your homework.
Not having a college degree doesn't make you uneducated and certainly not stupid. Even dropping out doesn't make you stupid. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are famous dropouts. How many of those college degrees are in Women's Studies?
This means we win.
A real 65%er story.

ooo ooo, now do the Blacks - Oh wait, that would be racist.
IE the non brainwashed patriots!
That's not me I'm just a deplorable.
