Of course it will only hurt the tax payers. If you look at democratic cities, the taxation for their failed policies does not seem to deter the status-quo holders in majority or the re-election of the office holders handing out free ____. Of course, if you take Portland as an example, it wouldn't be just the police department getting defunded - except.... the judges are the ones who have a say over civil settlement outcomes. Might just be a big nothing burger unless it is able to be elevated to a higher non/corrupt court. He should have added that the city is responsible for both legal cost if they win or lose (for cases related strictly to the damaging of properties, possessions or life directly associated to the restraining of policing/upholding laws on books)

I find it absolutely crazy that in a democratic Republic this isn't already a thing!

Call me nuts but a republic is supposed to be held responsible by the ppl it represents, not only via the cucks idea of "well vote them out" but also by fucking holding them accountable for the stupid ass desicions they make.
