You are most welcome, Fren. I don't know if you are a God-fearing parent, but generally when I encounter needs coupled with humility, that becomes my prayer prayer list. (I hate saying it "goes on my prayer list," that's cliche and doesn't really convey the proper urgency)

I am God-fearing. I teach Sunday school! I thank you most humbly for your prayers. I don't say this often, but I could use the prayer support.

God bless you. I follow your comments here every day! MAGA

God Bless our Sunday school teachers! You may know that Sunday school was started by our founding Fathers. You can't possibly know that my first Sunday school teacher was my Mom, with a friend of the family as her teacher's assistant. Here's a little story that I think illustrates the incredible impact a teacher can have:

I was there basically as babysitting. No other arrangements could be made, and I was far too young for the class. I always sucked at arts and crafts, but dove into reading and the depth of stories. So we got to Balaam and the ass, and also the phrase "brought him forth abroad." Something in my spirit lit up and I KNEW there was more to this than met my eye, so of course I had to ask.

Mom reacted to my question with a look I had never seen before. She talked with the assistant. They both looked over the class, and excused themselves for a meeting outside of our classroom. When they came back, they admitted they didn't know the answer to my question and said it was time to move on to ... whatever next activity.

My respect for my Mom went through the roof that day. I was about 4. Unbeknownst to me, God gave me the answer to that question sometime in my late 20's or early 30's. He tied it together with WAY more than I could ever ask or think, and I finally realized this was the answer to that question I had asked as a small child, and He had come through, in spades. When I was ready. He's like that!!

My Mom passed away last August, after at least a decade and a half of life being mostly suffering. We kept her out of a nursing home, and boy am I ever glad she never had to see this mess. Her last two residences were in NJ and CT. She died in her sleep, at peace, in her own bed. Hard to ask for any better than that ...

God bless you my pede. I am so sorry for your loss. You helped your mother have a noble end of life and death...and now she is resting in His arms.

I hope my children will someday appreciate my teaching as you appreciate your mother's teaching. Right now...two out of three of them are rebelling. Well, principally one out of three. I don't know how to reach her.

But knowing I eventually came around...and you eventually found the answer to your question....through our Lord and through our parents' teaching (my mom taught Sunday school too, and my dad taught me conservatism)...I have hope.

Admitting we don't know is in some way the essence of parenting. Thank you for your calm and thoughtful guidance. MAGA
