I would still not advise to run from the police, as you can always get a hothead who doesn't know or care about the law or who can cover it up in some way.
But here's a case where a cop who shot a fleeing suspect was sentenced to 20 years in jail for murder.

A cop is not allowed to shoot a suspect to prevent him from escaping. Cops can only shoot for self-defense.
