I seriously wonder if lack of Red Meat contributes to lower IQ.

Edit: Found the answer. Meat made us intelligent.

Brains needs fats and sugar. Good fuel, good brain.

Body makes its own glucose from carbohydrates (veggies, grains, fruits). DO NOT INJEST refined sugar. We can't make our own fatty acids, so down that bacon like your life depends on it.

Close. Your body can't synthesize omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Both of those are polyunsaturated fatty acids, meaning they have carbon-carbon double bonds located at multiple intervals along their hydrocarbon tail.

Your body can synthesize saturated fatty acids, meaning those that have no (or few) carbon-carbon double bonds.

I've heard soiu vide is a great way to cook food, but it just seems too much like boiling it for my tastes. Then again, I like my steak black and blue.

Member when they told us saturated fats would kill us all, when it was sugar and cigarettes that were the real killers?

I remember that there was a group of people that we called the rabbits, because they were sitting at one table, and their plates were just piled high with mostly lettuce, maybe garnished with some onions and carrots, or something. But the macrobiotic table was everybody had brown rice. And the purer you were, the less you had in addition to brown rice.

Arguments would just break out between the tables. No actual fights, because everyone was expecting the meat-eaters to be the aggressive ones. Actually, the raw-foodists were the most aggressive ones. But the meat-eaters were much bigger.

Looks like meat stays on the menu, boys!

It doesn't take a lot of intelligence to stalk and kill a plant, so there's not much evolutionary advantage for higher intelligence in herbivores. Catching animal prey does give an evolutionary advantage for higher intelligence, because you need to out smart your prey. You need to anticipate which way it might flee, the best places to try to herd it to prevent its escape, and the best way to trap it. The smarter hunter is the more successful hunter.
