With fascism you'd have to contest with a 2nd superpower that - at least temporarily and at that time - would be stable enough to prove that fascism works. The world might devolve into a nightmare, and the increase of authoritarianism and socialist ideologies would have given governments the power to extinguish any uprising of Individualism and liberty. They'd have a tight grip on the flow of information in the internet, like the Chinese do, and things like "memes" might not even exist.
