Thanks for the update on that, I thought they were quoting his reaction in this headline.

Now we have to figure out how to address him in the future. Perhaps we can now introduce him as something like "John Oliver--the comedian, not the sewage plant--threatened to beat up children" when writing about him.

Can anyone find a better adjective than "child-threatener" though?
