But if you read about the film maker you see shit like, "she spent a year interviewing young girls in the area about their experiences" and that she had over 600 girls audition for the part. That sounds like a fucking pedophile grooming children and producing child porn.
I went to a relatively liberal school in a very liberal state; they didn't start teaching sex ed until 5th grade (deodorant day and explanation of what your penis is, 1 day lesson only), then 6th-12th there was a quarterly health class where they would introduce new topics, diet, sex, drugs and alcohol, etc.
I am not in disagreement with this strategy for education. The fact that they (netflix) are jumping straight into "body expression" and "twerking" and completely circumventing not only any family education but even (what would be considered super leftist) school education is beyond me.
