I'd be surprised. Back in highschool when we were making mousetrap powered cars my buddy thought it would be funny to use a rat trap instead. On one occurrence it snapped on my finger. I couldn't hold a video game controller for 2 weeks, but it healed up pretty quick. I suppose if it was a pinky then MAYBE, but my pointer finger survived just fine.

My grandpa used to have a rat trap in a L shape that was extremely powerful. The force of the spring would make it jump up in the air when triggered. That trap back then would definitely break fingers.
