I'd believe it. I had a roadrager in an F-250 with a bull-bar nearly wreck me on the highway...called 911 and was told to pull over and wait for the trooper. An hour later he shows up and takes my statement. Calls me later in the week, says the guy admitted it happened and was mid-divorce so he had anger issues (like I GAF). Trooper says he's going to go check out the truck later in the week.
3 weeks go by, Trooper finally checks out the truck and says there's no damage or paint transfer on it. Well no kidding you moron, he's had THREE WEEKS to fix things. I ask if there's a bull-bar on it...nope. Oh, and the guy now denies that anything happened. So then I ask the Trooper if he'll testify about what the man had told him early on in the investigation. Nope. Flat out refused. Asshole.
Lesson learned? If there's a next time and I want some follow-through, I'll just have to claim the occupant was brandishing a firearm. 😒
I get a lot of static when I point out that some police are NOT deserving of our support. Cops like this are a prime example.

Yup, the only person responsible for your safety is you. 👍
