I knew a guy for many years who was a big-wig sales exec at a big name pharmaceutical company. I knew him from the time he was a Regional Sales Manager until he became a National Sales Manager. He is now an exec but I haven't spoken to him in 8+ years. The shit he told me changed my thinking of the pharmaceutical industry forever. For example, I didn't need to be on a certain medication for the last two years (back when he and I knew each other)...apparently the doctor prescribing it to me for two years straight was #3 in the nation for sales of this drug and the top 5 got an extremely expensive, high-end vacation for their entire family. Also, he would let me know of new "products" they had in the pipeline, and how they actively would seek to manipulate products so that they could benefit from other "products." In layman's terms, they would take a perfect drug and try to force it to have side-effects which would then require the patient to take an additional drug to take care of the previous drugs' side effects. These were just awesome new "products" to this guy. I promise you the pharmaceutical sales people knew more about the drugs than the doctors prescribing them. But let's not get into the sales reps...he had a particular style of rep he would hire and they would make a LOT of money, as long as they looked the part and had few inhibitions. I'm in sales, too, but this guy made me cringe at the thought of him calling his industry "sales." It was sickening. He was more of a pimp. A human pimp and a drug pimp. And his company's logo is on damn near every prescription drug commercial. I don't trust Big Pharma anymore than I trust a Career Politician. In fact the two go hand-in-hand.
I mean, we can all come up with convenient stories about how we knew a guy that fit perfectly into this very discussion in order to support our points. Problem is, there's zero reason to believe you since all you've got is an anecdote.
Why WOULDN'T a sales person know more about their product than the person they're trying to sell to? Wouldn't you want someone selling you guns to at least have some understanding of how they function? What about cars? Power tools? Boats? Furniture? Building supplies? Computer parts?
A medical doctor isn't going to intrinsically understand how new drugs work, they're not chemists by trade. I wouldn't expect the sales person to be either, but I would at least expect them to be able to provide an explanation on the drug's mechanism of action, it's bioavailability, and how fast it metabolizes.
You "know it's true" because it conveniently confirms your position. It may in fact be true, but that means literally zero in the context of this discussion. It can't be proven/verified and is thus worthless. Of no use. An empty set in mathematical terms.
Christine Blasey Ford "knew it was true" that Justice Brett Kavanaugh raped her too, just for the record.
Big difference is she was lying and anyone with a brain knew it. In my situation, anyone with a brain knows the pharmaceutical industry is tasked with making profits. Recurring clients are better than one-time clients. Purely sales-driven. You can pretend they are all altruistic and benevolent corporations looking to heal the sick, but that's willingly sticking your head in the sand. A common practice among the regressive left.

No problem; I know you don't have to believe me, but I also know my "anecdote" is true.
Which is the point, isn't it?
