I mean, we can all come up with convenient stories about how we knew a guy that fit perfectly into this very discussion in order to support our points. Problem is, there's zero reason to believe you since all you've got is an anecdote.

Why WOULDN'T a sales person know more about their product than the person they're trying to sell to? Wouldn't you want someone selling you guns to at least have some understanding of how they function? What about cars? Power tools? Boats? Furniture? Building supplies? Computer parts?

A medical doctor isn't going to intrinsically understand how new drugs work, they're not chemists by trade. I wouldn't expect the sales person to be either, but I would at least expect them to be able to provide an explanation on the drug's mechanism of action, it's bioavailability, and how fast it metabolizes.

No problem; I know you don't have to believe me, but I also know my "anecdote" is true.

Which is the point, isn't it?

You "know it's true" because it conveniently confirms your position. It may in fact be true, but that means literally zero in the context of this discussion. It can't be proven/verified and is thus worthless. Of no use. An empty set in mathematical terms.

Christine Blasey Ford "knew it was true" that Justice Brett Kavanaugh raped her too, just for the record.

Big difference is she was lying and anyone with a brain knew it. In my situation, anyone with a brain knows the pharmaceutical industry is tasked with making profits. Recurring clients are better than one-time clients. Purely sales-driven. You can pretend they are all altruistic and benevolent corporations looking to heal the sick, but that's willingly sticking your head in the sand. A common practice among the regressive left.

And as far as I know, you're lying too. Anyone with a brain knows that people who try to use anecdotes as actual evidence either have never been taken to task about backing up what they say, or are lying but banking on people believing their sob story.
