That argument always pisses me off. An elected official's sole performance metric is staying elected. A president doing things "for the votes", aka by the will of the people, is a GOOD thing.
An elected official who is worried about keeping his office is an elected official that does good work. It's why we need term limits for the other swamp rats, who've had 40+ years apiece to effect change and choose to blame Trump for everything.
