Be me.
Work for a large organization.
Work with several people across the organization to make the internship program worth while during lockdown-mania. Develop programs, build infrastructure, work on securely providing equipment and access. Work on how interns can have a meaningful experience and make worthwhile contributions. Some really innovative stuff about hiring, training, and working without ever setting foot in the office.
It’s a roaring success! Our interns made something great, learned a lot, and the stuff they worked on has been put into the production workflow.
This morning, find out we were listed as one of the 100 best intern programs. Great, right? Well, the reason listed was: they got to listen to a social justice screed from HR about working with black owned businesses.
Fuck that. I know others have been bitten hard by affirmative action and this is minor league in comparison to losing a contract because you don’t fit a diversity quota, but still pisses me off that all that work doesn’t matter as long as you poison their minds with SJW crap.
I'm just gonna say, every single diversity hire we've had has become a failure or liability.
