I watched several live streams from Wisconsin while listening to the local police and fire scanner for several hours last night. Fact of the matter is, there are too many of them destroying the city at once. The national guard was protecting the courthouse. After a few hours of tossing fireworks and getting hit with tear gas, the crowd split up into several groups, which were each engaged in multiple acts of destruction at once. Before the fire department would move in, cops had to move in and secure the area. Last night, it was hours after a fire had started.
If you're a business or home owner, you are on your own during civil unrest.
Another pede posted that governors may call up citizens to act as National Guardsmen. I wonder how it would work to split up the police and National Guard, and have 5 command a group of activated citizens. I would love to see a governor call up enough force to really put this stuff down, legally.
