Man I just started getting into Rush about a year and a half ago. I see what the hype is about. I always assumed he was a neocon Hannity kinda guy (not trying to shit on Hannity).

For any longtime listeners, was he toeing the line for Bush back in the day? I assume he was, which makes me feel somewhat correct. Didn't Rush jump aboard MAGA pretty fast though?

I've tried to get into Rush, I like some of their stuff, subdivisions is cool. I just can't get into Geddy Lee's voice I guess. Those guys can play though, you'd have to be dense not to see the talent of Neil Peart. I love the album cover for moving pictures as well. But at the end of the day, maybe Rush just isn't for me.

I can agree sometimes his voice is a little grating or hard to listen to, sometimes even compared to songs that sound similar (for instance, I love Fly by Night but I can't really get into anything from 2112 (the song, not the album) or Closer to the Heart.

I love most of his "softer" stuff, though (Limelight--still my absolute favorite song of theirs, Time Stand Still, Force 10, and even stuff like Caravan and Seven Cities of Gold from Clockwork Angels. It might've helped that my first introduction to Rush was through Rock Band and Guitar Hero (Tom Sawyer on RB1, and then Limelight later on when Harmonix got all of MOving PIctures, and YYZ on GH2).
