In interwar Germany, the people who stood for democratic liberties and against both Nazism and Communism formed their own militias, most famously the Black-Red-Gold Reichsbanner. Something referencing the Stars & Stripes might make for a good name.

Fuck it, bring back the name. Force people to learn history.

They'll take one look at the word "Reichsbanner" and see "Reich" and go "Wow they're literally nazis".

I mean they do that already, but still...

Interesting, never head of them until now. Though from further research, it appears they were stood up by mostly former Social Democrat party members. Following the wiki link to the SPD page, they didn’t drop Marxism as a party plank until the end of 1959.

I’m guessing somebody’s misrepresenting some stuff on either of the wiki pages

To be fair to the German SPD, that seems to have been a formality, and they pretty much gave up on Marxism in practice long before. In 1919 and the early '20s they were actually working with the hard-right Freikorps to crush Communist skulls in Germany's streets, directly causing the execution of Karl Liebknecht & Rosa Luxembourg (Germany's top commie bigwigs at the time).

They gave the KPD such a hard time that the latter (and Stalin, their puppeteer) declared the Social Democrats to be 'social fascists', to be opposed as vigorously as the Nazis. There's no excuse for the horrific degeneracy of Weimar of course, but if nothing else, the SPD's switch (in practice if not quite in name) to defending republicanism against the various extremist factions seems to have been genuine - Friedrich Ebert was no Kerensky (ie. a leader who bent over for the far left and enabled their revolution's success in his country).

There were other democratic paramilitary forces in the Weimar period, such as the Iron Front (fun fact: they came up with the antifascist three arrows symbol that Antifa uses sometimes these days, despite fighting Communists as hard as they fought Nazis), but those tended to be smaller and more obscure than the Reichsbanner.

Just call us the anti-marx. We all know Marxism is the underlying ideology here, antifa, blm, communism, socialism, etc

How about Patriots, or Americans.

Forming a militia is a really bad and ultimatly useless idea. The MOMENT people here start talking about forming one is the moment they go on a watch list, then ultimately will do nothing other than maybe on some rare crazy occasion shoot at someone attacking you, and even then you will still be the bad guy in the medias and FBIs eyes and get fucked over. Just look at what happened to the Proud Boys and they werent even a milita, just some goofy fraternity that just started fighting Antifa in the streets with their fist.

Forming politically is MUCH more important and practical, and the left knows this and the right needs to learn this. Antifa is just one part of the operation, they also own various legal funds and more importantly, have politicians on their side like the DA who just decided not to prosecute any antifa rioters arrested, or even mayors like Ted Wheeler that just lets it all happen.

I dont care if this gets downvoted bc you guys need to hear this, guns are for the most part a giant cope. A real civil war scenario isnt some cool video game shootfest, it would be a miserable bloody event that will NEVER end in anything good for either side. Organizing and working on real life practical political solutions is what we need to do. Occupy spaces in government, hold power within the system, thats how you win.

++Militias are formed by handshakes between you and your neighbors and within your town. Aside from noting who to call or visit from surrounding areas in case everyone needs to come together to answer a specific external threat, leave it be.

Movements are without borders on county, state, federal and national level.

Federalist Papers discussed tyranny of Mob and how a Republic might hold it in check. We are ever swung back and forth towards Mob or Tyrant rule. There must be some swing room, never to be fixed into either absolute.

Another pendulum I believe must remain free-swinging is Free Trade (Mob economics) to Protectionism (Tyrant economics). If a country is strong, periods of Free Trade gathers wealth from elsewhere, and periods of protection ensure self-reliance and foster domestic innovation. These things are not simply 'imperialist' in the sense that the world also benefits from our trade, and the national innovation spurred by protection allows us to build and export useful things -- like industrial revolutions.

Yeah I want to clarify that Im NOT against guns or militias, Im against the idea of people just doing that and nothing else and then just waiting for the country to collapse as an excuse to play civil war 2. If we really want to save ourselves, we need to organize politically, get lawyers and what not on our side, find candidates in local elections to back, and organize in places like this for info that we can then spread out to normies.

John Birch Society and Judicial Watch already exist and take members. JBS is for civilian political action and their website is set up to allow you to contact your reps very easily. They have great resources on things like Agenda 21, our Founders and their principles, and community action agendas. Lots of volunteer work and pamphlet spreading, holding reps accountable, showing up for meetings etc. 100 people working concertedly at this (rather than just protesting) can and have easily changed the game.

Judicial Watch are lawyers who sue the government over FOIA requests and issues like illegal immigration, sanctuary cities and the coup against Donald Trump.

While we've all been working like we've been told to do, that's what they've been doing and how we got here. That and ducking jury duty. I don't know if the movement is big enough to form our own party, but ultimately I think that is what needs to happen if we want to keep America.

Cyber1776 1 point ago +1 / -0

Forming our own party would be a huge mistake as it would just split the right wing vote. Reforming the Republican party is a much better idea. Like how Bernie and the DemSoc DSA crowd simply infiltrate the Democratic Party from within rather than trying to bash on the walls of it.

1
johnrambo 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's what I mean, infiltrate and overthrow to form a real republican party that believes in the constitution and kick the rino's out.
