For a bit of anominity, im 3 blocks south of the golden dome (if you look closely at the scrubbed up “hospital worker” blocking traffic and the lady in the truck yelling at her, you can see my building). For the most part, its been calm, only seeing marches- and that was months ago. Worst thing we had was a standoff at our intersection. Since its all studios, we all socialize on our front porch With more than a few libations. I was camping that weekend- but our building got lit up by the pepper balls. Cuz all the rioters were there- and later i learned, some bleeding heart residents were taking in those who had been shot with various non lethal crowd control devices to their own places. If i can find a new job, im not opposed to move if it cuts the commute.
Nice. Yeah, that outdoor hangouts vibe with the neighbors was exactly what I did for 3 years. And I was able to walk to work so that was nice. Despite it being liberal, there wasn't much vitriol back in '14-'15. But let me tell you, after the shit I endured leading up to the '16 election, I will never forget the shit-eating grin I was wearing and how depressed everyone else was. I was a gracious winner then and didn't rub it in too much, and we drank and it was fine. I will not be that gracious this time around.
