I live in Southern Indiana, and I found out about Jungle Jim's a couple weeks ago. I'm ready to take the 3 hour trek out there.

Which one is better? Fairfield or Eastgate? Or are the equally as great?

I love 'em both. The Fairfield store is the original and I'd recommend it for the novelty factor (that location has all of the kooky paraphernalia - the monorail, animal statues, animatronics, a colossal cylinder of cheese, fish tanks, etc.). It also boasts a better selection of goods (both international packaged foods and exotic meats, seafood, and produce).

The Eastgate store is relatively newish and in a more convenient location. It also has a less-labyrinthine layout that's easier to navigate. I usually go there because it's less of a hassle to get to.

I haven't been up to either of them since Kung Flu kicked off, so I couldn't tell you what all has changed in the stores. Methinks the days of seeing a massive eel laid out in ice in the fish market area may be gone. And if I were to see Jungle Jim riding around the store on his Segway in his wizard outfit, as he is wont to do, but wearing a mask, I'd die a bit inside.

From looking at a map, The Fairfield location looks fairly easy to get to from where I am.

The bathrooms are very unique from what I saw, the outside at least.

The Fairfield one probably interests me more with more international packaged foods and exotic meats. Those two don’t really exist here in my area. Most exotic meat we have is bison
