Des Moines and Ames are pretty good. Lived in Ames for a few years while I was in college, pretty standard college town and there's lots of fun to be had there. I have several friends and family in the Des Moines metro area. It's a bit more liberal there but never gets out of hand. Iowa City/Cedar Rapids to my understanding has more riff raff because the University of Iowa is a way more liberal college than Iowa State and is closer to Illinois. I don't really go to council bluffs ever so I'm not too sure what it's like around there. You planning on moving here?

Nope! I was just wondering because I have only driven through the western part of Iowa once and saw nothing but corn!
